Second handover fills the school ground at Sipapokhare

The only piece of flat ground in Sipapokhare large enough to hold the village is the field at Rajeshwori School. In March 2016 about fifteen hundred people stood on it.
A hundred houses were formally handed over that day, taking the cumulative total to 368. Dr Prakash Karki, who had travelled from the United States, was the chief guest. Scott DeLisi, the former US ambassador to Nepal, had been announced as chief guest two weeks earlier but could not attend because of a scheduling conflict. Five performers from the group Sisno Pani played.
The cards the recipients are holding name the donor attached to each house. It is the same information that goes on the plaque by the door and into the public register, presented at the moment of transfer, in front of the whole village.
The first handover had been held six months earlier, in September 2015, for a much smaller number of houses. The third and last would come in November 2016.
